On Saturday, November 25 (2008), we will be donating blood at the Canadian Blood Service’s Waterloo Clinic (Sobey’s Plaza, Bridgeport and Weber). We invite you to join us for this simple yet great way to help out. Afterwards, we’d love you to stick around and grab lunch (from 12:00pm-1:00pm) with us at one of the many nearby restaurants.
Giving blood is a wonderful but easy way for you to serve others. Canadian Blood Services reports that every minute, someone in Canada needs blood. The blood you donate can be used to help accident victims, people receiving organ transplants, or those receiving treatment or surgery for any number of reasons. Whether you're considering making your very first blood donation, or you've given blood many times already, we encourage you to join us for this.
Rides may be available from the UW Campus to the clinic, so check back here later for more info!
If you missed the chance to sign up for donations last Monday, but still want to donate with us, you can still sign up. Just call Canadian Blood Services at 1-888-2DONATE, and book your appointment over the phone with them. The Embassy's "Blood Donation Party" is from 9am to 1pm. Please note however that these spots are now available for the general public to book, and so they may fill up quickly!
If you would like more information about Canadian Blood Services, or donating blood in general, please visit http://www.bloodservices.ca/.
If you have any questions, please feel free to speak to Dave or Emily, or send us an email at service@the-embassy.org.
Thank you so much for your infterest in this, and as always, we hope to see you there!

I just wanted to say that I think that it's great you are doing this and also blogging about it. People like you are save lives. Please stop by Thankyourdonor.ca It's a Canadian social media website where recipients of blood transfusions thank their unknown donors for the blood that saved their life.
