Oct 24 - Oasis Drop-In Centre

Join us Friday, October 24 (2008) from 5pm-10pm, as we go down to downtown Kitchener to help out at the Oasis Drop-In Centre by cooking food, serving meals, helping out where we can, and just getting to know the people who visit them.

Oasis is a drop-in centre located in downtown Kitchener, dedicated to helping those who face daily challenges of poverty, substance abuse, and homelessness. In addition to providing meals to those who stop by, Oasis also provides groceries, clothing, showers, guidance, and a safe place to "hang out." Oasis is supported by a combination of local churches, businesses, and individuals.

We'll be meeting at the Student Life Centre on the UW campus at 5pm, and we’ll take the bus down, or you can meet us there at 6pm, (just please be sure to let us know where you will be meeting us).

You can sign up at the Embassy, using the Service Saturday board located in the Welcome Area, as you make your way in. Alternatively, you could send us an email at servicesaturday@the-embassy.org, and let us know you're coming. However, please make sure you've signed up no later than Monday, Oct 20th.
